Not bad, everyone needs practice. (Heck I haven't even tried) But keep at it, there is nothing bad about this song.
Its what you could add to which make the difference:
For instance you could turn this into a trance by making the lowering the bass and adding a supporting rhythm or turn this into a dance song by pumping up the bass and throwing drums in.

The bass, the rhythm, the execution resonates very well.
